Camera Strap Cover

I thought I'd have a go at one of these...
I lined it with fleece so it would be nice and padded and comfy to wear - they do rub!

The fabric is from some of my donated stash - it's beautiful!

It's great to have friends...

especially generous ones lol!
My friend donated all her sewing gear to me yesterday - and boy was there a lot!

SOME of the fabric - I'd never get all of it in the picture! This is about a third of it...

the piles and piles of patterns - all dated between 1968 and 1980 - very retro and so very cool! Plus a box of different colour thread spools.

and finally the sewing box containing scissors, buttons, fasteners, bobbins, ribbon, needles, pins etc etc!!

Am I a lucky girl or WHAT?

My first hood! Woohoo!

This is for a friend's child, not mine lol!

Another tunic upcycle (work in progress)

This tunic is all cut out and ready to go...just needs pressing and then sewing up!
This is also for a friend (well, her little girl, anyway lol!)
It's made from a blue tshirt top of mine, and an old patterned sun dress I sadly can't get into any more...
I like the way it's looking now - hope it looks as good when it's all stitched.
Please excuse the small one trying to get in on the act...ha ha ha!

Thanks for looking.

Play Tunic upcycle

I made this for a friend..a little play tunic made from an old dress of mine.
The tie at the neck is a false one, and the frill at the bottom was already attached on the dress.

I didn't make Jamie model it....lol!

Summer Trousers - completed.

Finally got these finished...they have an elasticated back with a drawstring front.
This was the best photo I could get...I think Jamie's fed up of modelling now lol!

Two designs for you today....

I have been busy lol!
Firstly, a pair of long shorts for the small one...upcycled from an old t-shirt of mine. I'm so glad now that I'm a blue/green and not a pink wearer!

and secondly a hat I made for my friend...she loved the one I made Jamie and asked me to make her one, so I did! The fleece was part of the lot I bought last year that also contained the pink camo fleece that I made my lens cases from.

Modelled here by Jamie (not as much under protest as you might think lol!)

Long Sleeve Tee

This is my first top I've made...it's upcycled from an old t-shirt of Russ's, so go eco me lol!
Pattern was made from an existing top Jamie has.
Very pleased with how it's turned out - I want to go make another now!

Camera lens case project - complete!

Well I finished the other two lens cases today...I'm very happy with the way they turned out (and so are a couple of friends who want me to make them some too ha ha ha!)
Now just to finish Jamie's trousers and that will be three projects complete! Go me!

Sunday 16 January 2011

So my first projects...

Well here was the first thing I ever made with my machine...a pair of cushion covers for the sofa!
I thought I'd start with something REALLY easy...and was quite surprised with how well these turned out!
They are made from an old throw that got messed up in the boot of the car with oil and stuff...and I just used the 'good' bits lol! I will at some point be adding some buttons to the fold when I get some!

At this point, I then started on a pair of trousers for my son Jamie, but they've yet to be properly finished...I will post them when they are!
In the meantime, I decided to give my camera lenses a comfy warm home...so here's a lens case I made with some fleece fabric I bought last year.

So that's where we are at the moment...as soon as I complete something else, I'll be back to show off ha ha ha!

Well we're half way through January......lol!

And I decided that, as I've made a couple of things now with my sewing machine, it might be fun to have a way of charting my progress (if any!) with using my sewing machine I got for Christmas.

So, here it is...'Stuff Mummy Makes'!

I hope you like it!

Getting an early start...

Well for some reason, (and trust me, this NEVER happens!), I'm making an early start on things for that most dreaded of C-words... CHRI...
